My change Welcome to The Harwellian (Harwell Village Sports and Social Club). This Social Club welcomes new members, families and friends. It is not just for servicemen and women. It is a modern, exciting and family friendly Social Club at the heart of our village community and open to everyone. We do, however, maintain the principles of the RBL and fully support our past and present servicemen and women in support of the Poppy Appeal organized by the Branch Committee.
The Club is open daily and offers a fully stocked bar with a full range of beers (including guest beers), wines and spirits. It has a large and flexible amount of space that is also available to hire to the whole community, offering excellent and versatile Facilities for all kinds of classes, courses, parties, workshops, weddings and funerals.
The Club is supported by Harwell Bowls Club, Harwell Rugby Club, the RBL Snooker League, the RBL Darts League for Men and Women, Harwell & Hendred Boys Football Club, and also hosts regular Whist Drives. New team players are always welcome, so do come along and let us know if you would like to join any of our sporting activities.
Our varied and regular social activities include Supper Quizzes, Dances, Cabaret Nights, Family Discos, New Years Eve Dance, a Summer Ball, Race Nights, Lotto, Weekly Tote and a Friday ‘Club Night’ – check out our Activities calendar to see what’s on.
Membership application forms are available in the Club or you can ring us on 01235 797070 (evenings/weekends) or speak with the Club Committee Chairman on 01235 835870.
Our Facilities include Poppies Tea Room – open on alternate Tuesdays to the whole community for either a cooked lunch or afternoon tea with a fully equipped kitchen – the Main Hall/Function Room with 2 full size snooker tables and 2 darts boards and a large dance area and The Village Room offering a more comfortable lounge bar venue with a wide screen TV.
Why not call in and check out this important village facility. New members are vitally important to our continuing development and your views and ideas about what you would like to see happening at the Club would be very welcome.
